Vaccines
A vaccine is a biological preparation that improves immunity to a particular disease. Traditional vaccines contain either parts of microbes or whole microbes that have been killed or weakened so that they don’t cause disease. When a person is inoculated with these preparations, the immune system confronts these harmless versions of the germs. The immune system quickly clears them from the body. In turn the body remembers the germs so that later in life when it encounters the real live virulent germs it may be able to fight it off with the retained memory against the particular germ. When an individual is vaccinated against a disease or an infection, the immune system is prepared to fight the infection. Once vaccinated when the person is exposed to the bacterium that causes it the body gears up to fight off the infection. Vaccines take advantage of the body’s natural ability to learn how to eliminate almost any disease-causing germ, or microbe, that attacks it. Once vaccinated the body “remembers” how to protect itself from the microbes it has encountered before.

Smartphone
A smartphone is a device that lets you make telephone calls, but also adds in features that, in the past, you would have found only on a personal digital assistant or a computer--such as the ability to send and receive e-mail and edit Office documents. To really understand what a smartphone is (and is not), we should start with a history lesson. In the beginning, there were cell phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). Cell phones were used for making calls--and not much else--while PDAs, like the Palm Pilot, were used as personal, portable
organizers. A PDA could store your contact info and a to-do list, and could sync with your computer. Eventually, PDAs gained wireless connectivity and were able to send and receive e-mail. Cell phones, meanwhile, gained messaging capabilities, too. PDAs then added cellular phone features, while cell phones added more PDA-like (and even computer-like) features. The result was the smartphone.

Prosthesis
A prosthesis is a replacement for a missing body part. People
most commonly associate prostheses with missing arms and legs, but the term is
also used to refer to internal devices such as heart valves, as well as
prosthetic eyes and other body parts. The intention behind a prosthesis is to
improve the quality of life for the wearer, while also giving the person more
freedom and independence. The word comes from a Greek word,
prostithenai, which means “to add to".

Lego Sculpture
LEGO sculptures are three dimensional creations created from the small building
bricks. The main things a potential client should keep in mind about sculptures
are that these are built neither quickly or cheaply. Much planning must be done
before the first two bricks are even clicked together. A typical human-sized
sculpture can easily take a month to build. It is a very organic process and one
that requires much visualization and extrapolation. The cost of such a statue
will likely be a few thousand dollars.

Economics and Finance
Economics is a social science that studies the production, consumption and distribution of goods and services, with an aim of explaining how economies work and how their agents interact. Although labeled a "social science" and often treated as one of the liberal arts, modern economics is in fact often very quantitative and heavily math-oriented in practice. Finance in many respects is
an offshoot or outgrowth of economics, and many of the notable achievements in finance (at least within academia) were made by individuals with economics backgrounds and/or positions as professors of economics. Finance generally focuses on the study of prices, interest rates, money flows and the financial markets.
